Midnight sun
The Midnight Sun is the time of the nightless nights. In Ylläs located north of the Arctic Circle, the midnight sun period lasts from the end of May until the end of July. It is bright day and night! Summer nights are pleasantly cool with average temperature around 15 degrees. Summer nights are not meant to be spent sleeping, but spending time outdoors to explore nature.
Reindeer
If you get not enough from seeing reindeers in nature or even on the yard of Milis Chalet, organise a visit at a reindeer farm!

Northern lights
Between September and March, you can marvel at the green-violet play of colors in the sky. Due to Ylläs being located on the southern edge of the aurora oval that surrounds the north pole, stastistically you can see the auroras in Ylläs on two out of three nights – if the sky is clear.
Hiking
Ylläs is an excellent destination for hiking enthusiasts and one of the special features of the area is the easily accessible hiking trails.
Ylläs Bike Park
Ylläs Bike Park offers the longest routes in Finland, starting at the top of the Ylläs fell. There are three lifts available for the convenient transport of you and your bike to the starting point of the descent.

Ylläs offers modestly the best cycling terrain in Finland. Most of it happens in beautiful Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.

Ylläs offers a diverse range of routes for paddlers, including fast-flowing rivers, calm small lakes, and combinations of both.

You can swim in pure small lakes under midnight sun in June-July.
Fishing
There are many lakes, ponds, rivers, and small streams for fishing trout, whitefish, perch, and pike in the beautiful wilderness of Lapland.

Berry gathering
In late summer, the harvest season begins, and the forests bursting with berries drive the locals wild with their buckets.
Season for blueberries is August to September, for cloudberries and lingonberries September and for cranberries October.

Perfect summer activity for groups and families in the splendid nature of Ylläs. Free use of the 18-hole disc golf courses on either sides of the Ylläs fell.
Golf course
Diverse gold course for beginners and more experienced golfers embedded in the stunning landscapes of Lapland. Located in Levi, located 55km from Milis Chalet. Driving range and putting green also available. Open usually from June until September.
